How To Apply Individual False Eyelashes?
Posted on July 29, 2009
False eyelashes are a great way to dramatically enhance your eyes.
While some people prefer to use a full strip of fake eyelashes, using individual false eyelashes are a great way to achieve the look without making it obvious that you are using falsies.
The first important step is to do your other eye make-up first. Put on any eyeshadow and highlighter you plan on using. Then, and this is very important, put on eyeliner.
You can use liquid liner, pencil/kohl liner to smudge for more of a smoky eye. This eye liner will help disguise the individual false eyelashes. Hold off on the mascara.
Next, place a drop of glue on the back of your hand, or some other surface (like the cap of a makeup container).
Hold the individual lash with a pair of tweezers and dip the end into the glue. Then, let the glue set for at least ten seconds, so that it can become a bit sticky and “tacky.” Using the tweezer, hold the false lash by the end or the middle and place it at the outer corner of your eye.
Always start from the outer corner and work your way in (it is best to stop somewhere around the center of your eye). Also, do not place the lashes right next to each other so that they are touching… give each one a tiny bit of space from each other!
Finally, apply your mascara. You probably will not need a lot, just one coat should do it. Even a light application will enhance the look, AND help to make the false eyelashes indistinguishable from the real ones.
